English Poems

Lullaby

trails

So full of singers is this night
weaving a song of dark and fright
around the cave where wide awake
my memories I murmur
lulling the ghosts in my mouth
I could even hear my voice
were it not for the rain tracing
long trails across my window panes
and the fingers I see scratching
slowly stirring, reaching out
towards my neck to choke my hope.
